Dental Insurance Benefits: Use it or Lose it! | A Plus Dental

by | Nov 3, 2021 | Dental Clinic in Campbelltown

Get all you deserve this year.

As 2021 comes to an end, it’s a great time to review your dental insurance benefits. Make appointments early enough to make sure your family maximises your hard-earned benefits.

Have you been putting off a check-up, cleaning or treatment? Call now, and we’ll tell you what’s left of your benefits.

You may not know it, but dental insurance is a “use it or lose it” proposition. 96% of patients let their unused dental insurance benefits expire before the year is out.

Make an appointment before the year ends.

We want to help you have a great smile!

Reasons To Use Your Dental Benefits Now!

Yearly Maximum. This is the maximum amount that the dental insurance plan will pay for your dental work within the year. If you have unused benefits by the end of the year, they will not roll over to the following year. You will lose them as soon as that calendar page flips.

Deductible. The deductible is the amount of out-of-pocket money you must pay to your dentist before your insurance provider pays for any services. As soon as 2022 arrives, your plan requires you to meet that deductible again.

Premiums. If you are paying for dental insurance premiums by the month, you should also use your benefits. Even if you have healthy teeth and don’t require treatment at this time, your regular cleanings and exams are usually covered at 100 per cent.

Fee Increases. Another reason to take advantage of your dental benefits before the year ends is the possible fee increase. Most of these increases occur at the start of every year.

Dental Problems Can Worsen. By delaying dental treatment now, you risk more extensive and expensive treatment. What may be a simple cavity could turn into a root canal problem later and maybe even lead to tooth loss.

Use Your Dental Insurance Benefits Now!

If you have any unused benefits, then it’s time to schedule an appointment so you can make the most of your available coverage.

Since insurance plans are usually based on the calendar year, it’s a “use it or lose it” situation. When the clock strikes 12mn on December 31, then your current benefits are gone.

With the holiday season upon us, it can be tricky to fit everything in. But it’s a great opportunity to prioritise your health.
